Dear Inman Elementary School Families,
The Inman Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to welcome all new and returning families. We hope you had a fantastic summer! We have many exciting events and opportunities planned for our new 2015-2016 school year!
Our PTO is a special partnership between parents, teachers, and principals. We work hard to build a better environment for our children to learn by bridging the two worlds of home and school. PTO is a great way to get involved in your child’s education. Through donations and fundraising, we continue to be able to purchase materials and equipment for the school and support efforts to make IES a fun and exciting place for learning and play.
Last year, through your support and volunteerism, we were able to fund and create an outdoor classroom! Also, PTO funds provided each student with an IES homework folder, two take home books from the Reading is Fundamental program, and hot chocolate and cookies during Polar Express Day. We were also very excited to sponsor a visit from author, Samantha Bell, to our school. We provided teachers with various holiday and Teacher Appreciation luncheons, breakfasts, and gifts as a gesture of our gratitude for their efforts and care of our children. We wrapped up the year by organizing and hosting a field day. These are just some of the ways Inman Elementary PTO is making a difference in the lives of our children. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of families like yours!
In lieu of membership dues, this year we are asking for donations - no matter how great or small. This might also be an opportunity to invite extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) and friends to support your child’s education. Fundraisers are often necessary as a means to financially support our efforts as an organization, but if you prefer a charitable donation instead, this is a great time to do that. Whether it’s your time or donation or both, WE NEED YOU and your involvement to ensure quality programs for our children. We are so thankful for your support!
We look forward to a fun, exciting, and productive school year! Thanks in advance for your important role in our school community. We hope that every parent will become a part of the PTO. We invite and encourage you to attend our PTO meetings. Children are welcome. The time and location is to be announced. Please contact a PTO board member should you have any questions at [email protected].
Children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work.
